- What is Goodebox?
Goodebox is a trial & discovery service providing expertly curated, trial sized healthy beauty and personal care products, along with samples of natural & organic health and wellness products. Each Goodebox includes a pre-screened (meaning we and our experts have tried them and liked them) selection of the best healthy beauty products out there. There’s a learning curve when it comes to finding products that are not only good for you and the planet, but perform well too. Goodebox helps shorten that learning curve, doing the legwork for you on ingredients, brand ethics, and performance, then allowing you to give it a try it before committing to a full size product. Members also receive exclusive offers, giveaways, sneak peeks at upcoming products, members only opportunities for product giveaways, practical tips and more. It’s a gift to yourself (or someone else), that arrives on the doorstep every month…a little surprise to look forward to and a way to take better care of yourself, one small step at a time.
- What’s the cost and how does payment work?
There are 5 Membership Plans available –
- $21/box on the Monthly Plan. Pay as you go plan, automatically recurs each month until canceled. Billed upon sign-up. Next bill between 1-7th of the following month.
- $21/box on the Every Other Month. Pay as you go, automatically recurs every other month until canceled. Billed upon sign-up. Next bill between 1-7th of the following month.
- $20/box with a 3 Month Membership for $60. Non-refundable, no Cancellations. Can be transferred to a new recipient. Billed upon sign-up. Next bill 3 months from date of sign-up. Renews automatically unless canceled before next bill date.
- $19/box with a 6 Month Membership for $114. Non-refundable, no Cancellations. Can be transferred to a new recipient. Billed upon sign-up. Next bill 6 months from date of sign-up. Renews automatically unless canceled before next bill date
- $18/box with a 12 Month Membership for $216. Non-refundable, no Cancellations. Can be transferred to a new recipient. Billed upon sign-up. Next bill 12 months from date of sign-up. Renews automatically unless canceled before next bill date.
Each month’s membership dues will be automatically charged each period to the credit card you used at sign-up until you choose to cancel. For new members, to ship as soon as possible, dues for the following month will be processed during the normal billing window, between the 1st and 7th of the month. This may result in two month’s dues being processed within the same month, sometimes within just a few days of one another, depending on the date of sign-up.
Please note: All memberships, including 3,6 and 12 month memberships, automatically renew unless the membership is canceled prior to the next billing period (between the 1-7th). For example, if your 3-Month Membership is for the January – March Goodeboxes and you joined on December 15th, you will need to cancel before March 15th. All 3 boxes will ship, but the plan will not renew. If no cancellation request is received the plan will automatically renew.
- Do you sell individual Goodeboxes?
From time to time, we will offer a limited run of Single Goodeboxes. They are processed in a single transaction with no recurring membership dues. They include a non-personalized (random) selection of 4 to 6 healthy, sustainable beauty & wellness products shipped once. Occasionally we will offer a Bonus Box, which will be a larger number of products at a different price point. Purchasing a Single Goodebox does not create a membership. Goodebox member special offers & give-away eligibility is not included in the Single Goodebox option. Purchase of the Single Goodebox is available to both members and non-members. It’s an easy way to see what a Goodebox is like before joining as a regular member. Existing members are welcome to purchase a Single Goodebox box to receive extra samples of items they may have received in a previous box. No specific product requests can be accommodated. Three boxes per sale is permitted per transaction.
- Who is Goodebox for?
We focus on product over presentation, quality over quantity, and work to provide a compelling mix of high quality, high performance products each month. If you receive 12 other beauty boxes, this may not be for you. If you’re expecting or looking for a box of several full size goods or elaborate packaging, this may not be the right service for you. If you’re a deal seeker (ie: expect your box value to far outweigh it’s cost), this service may not be for you. If you’re not serious yet about making a switch to cleaner beauty, Goodebox may not be for you. If you’re very limited in the types of products (ie: only makeup, no skincare, etc) you’d like to receive, Goodebox may not be a fit for you. Are we trying to talk you out of it? No, we just want it to be a good fit. If you love green beauty, natural wellness, healthy personal care and sustainable living, Goodebox is for you. If you care about healthier ingredients, enjoy supporting smaller, more conscious companies, and understand that more is not always better, Goodebox is for you. If you understand that healthier, more sustainable products often cost a little more than conventional products, Goodebox is for you. If you want cleaner, non-toxic products and just don’t have time to do the research yourself, Goodebox is for you. If you want a service you can rely on to send tried & true products for you to test before you buy, Goodebox is for you. If you’re open to trying new things (and perhaps finding things you never though you’d use but love), Goodebox is for you. We welcome you!
- What can I expect to receive in my Goodebox?
Let’s be clear. Goodebox is first and foremost a healthy beauty & wellness discovery and trial service. We are emphasizing this to make sure we meet your expectations as some services are known to include several full size products and elaborate packaging. We are different. Goodebox is not a box of full sized products, nor a grab bag stuffed to the brim with anything ‘natural’ we could find that month. The mission of Goodebox is to introduce you to pre-screened and tested, cleaner, more sustainable beauty & wellness products made by brands using the highest quality, most effective ingredients, chosen by experts in the beauty, wellness & green living fields.
Each Goodebox will contain 4 to 6 trial sized, simply packaged, good products chosen with your profile in mind. This means that while many products work for most people, some are more specific, and we’ll work to include products more likely to work for your skin type, hair type, coloring and the like. This does not mean that each member receives a 100% customized box only featuring the product types indicated on your profile. All Goodeboxes will contain some type of skin and/or bodycare products. Most months will have a color item (make-up), and some will have hair care, fragrance, sun care, personal care, hygiene products, accessories, supplements, health & beauty related food or beverage items or sustainable living products. Sometimes you’ll get a fancy little bottle, tube or pump, mostly you’ll receive samples in simple (still cute, but simple) packaging. Some are machine-made, some are hand made (gasp…products made by hand?). Each box measure 6 x 6 x 2, to give you an idea of scale and each product quantity will be a size sufficient to give you a good idea of the scent, texture and performance.
Product type, sizes and value vary month to month, and often, member to member, depending on what is best suited to their profile from the products available that month.
This service is $17.00-$19.00 a month, depending on which plan you chose. We’d like to stress that it’s a service– a way to discover and try pre-screened, healthier beauty products, some natural wellness products and occasional sustainable living / lifestyle products. It’s not a product discount box. While some boxes may have a product value substantially higher than $17.00-$19.00, some may be closer to what you paid for it. The average box value is between $24-$54 (excluding the value of shipping, screening, testing, etc), though some will be higher. All will be worth at least what you pay. Many product sizes will be deluxe samples (at least 3 applications, often more) some will travel size and a few will be full size, depending on the item. Some will be fancy packaging, many will be simple, some will even be hand made (gasp!). Box values will vary from member to member, based on what is the best fit for a profile from the products available that month. When considering the “value” of your Goodebox, we hope you will take a look not only at the retail value of each product provided, but also the service itself, including screening, testing, selecting, as well as shipping (think about how much you would pay in shipping if you ordered a trial size from each brand individually).
Product selection and customization is based on profiles, informing which products from each month’s available products are the best fit for the member.
Member Profiles help us source and select products to suit your interests, skin type, hair type and color preferences, however we are unable to keep all product types on hand at all times to provide each member with a unique box exactly reflecting their product type interests. Product types available each month will limit customization to some degree. We do our best to customize based on your preferences and most of the products should be suitable to you. For example, if there’s a choice between a skincare product and makeup product from our pool of products in a given month, and your profile rates skincare higher, that’s what you will get. If we have three cleansers available one month, one for dry, oily and sensitive and your profile indicates you have oily skin, that’s the one you will get. No box will be 100% of any one product type. All boxes will contain either skincare or body care, depending on the month, and some will contain makeup, supplements, wellness, hygiene, lifestyle products, hair care or accessories. We mix it up month to month to keep it interesting. One month may be body care and lifestyle product oriented, while another may be more about skincare, and another more about makeup. Bottom line? Some boxes may contain products types you have not specifically indicated an interest in, but discovery is fun and if it’s not for you, share it with a friend! Sharing & discovery is so much more fun than disappointment!

- How does the sign-up process work?
Click here to Join Goodebox. You will first be directed to a page to create an account with a User Name and Password. Next, you will choose the plan that best suits you and enter your payment details. A $1.50 authorization charge will be processed to ensure funds are available, which will then be voided. No funds are transferred for this. Your first payment may process anytime between the 1-7th of the shipping month or between the 15th and 30th for Late SignUp Shipments. (This is when we are able to ship to members who join after the 1st of the Shipping Month. Please note: If the 15th is not a business day, collection may occur plus or minus a day or two). Once your payment details have been entered, you will be re-directed to complete your Member Profile, where your shipping address and information about you is collected to help us source appropriate products and select items for your Goodebox.
- How long will I be committed once I sign up?
You can cancel Monthly and Bi-Monthly Memberships at any time. To prevent another box from shipping, be sure to cancel BEFORE the 1st of the shipping month to prevent the next month’s membership dues from processing and that box from shipping. Dues are processed between the 1st and 7th of the month and boxes ship between the 25-30th. Cancellations submitted ON OR AFTER the 1st of the shipping month will take effect the following month. For example, if you cancel on July 1st or later, your membership dues will be processed (between the 1st and 7th) and you will receive the August Goodebox as your last. No further dues will be processed nor boxes shipped.
3 and 6 Month Memberships are processed at the time of joining and cannot be canceled or refunded, however they can be transferred to a new recipient. When a membership begins is based on the date of sign-up. Multi-month memberships automatically renew unless the membership is canceled prior to the next billing period. For example, if your 3 Month Membership is for the January through March Goodeboxes (billed Dec 1-7, Jan 1-7 & Feb 1-7), you will need to cancel before March 1st or else the 3 Month Membership will auto renew.
- When will my membership dues be processed each month?

- 6 Month Membership for $102 – $17.00 a box, saves 10%. Non-refundable, no cancelations. Can be transferred to a new recipient. Billed upon sign-up. Next bill 6 months from date of sign-up. Renews automatically unless canceled before next bill date
- 12 Month Membership for $192 – $16.00 a box, saves 15%. Non-refundable, no cancelations. Can be transferred to a new recipient. Billed upon sign-up. Next bill 12 months from date of sign-up. Renews automatically unless canceled before next bill date.
Monthly & Every Other Month MembershipPlans: Membership Dues for Monthly and Every Other Month plans are collected upon joining. They will be automatically charged each period to the credit card you used at sign-up until you choose to cancel. Dues for the following month will be processed during the normal billing window, between the 1st and 7th of the month. This may result in two month’s dues being processed within just a few days of one another, depending on the date of sign-up. NOTE: For new members, dues are processed at sign-up. 3, 6 & 12 Month Plans Membership Plans: Dues for 3,6 and 12 Month plans are paid in full upon joining. As set forth in our FAQ and Terms & Policies, these plans are non-refundable and non-cancelable once created. Each plan will automatically renew unless canceled prior to the next billing date, after the applicable 3, 6 or 12 months has passed from the date of purchase. You can refer to your next billing date in your Member Dashboard at any time. Canceling a 3, 6 or 12 month plan prior to the renewal date will not prevent the remaining balance of Goodeboxes from shipping, however it will prevent and further payment of Member Dues and the plan will not renew. 3, 6 and 12 Month Memberships are processed at the time of joining and cannot be canceled or refunded, however they can be transferred to a new recipient. Membership dues will be automatically charged each period to the credit card you used at sign-up until you choose to cancel.

- When do Goodeboxes ship?
Goodeboxes start their journey to your doorstep at the end of a given month and arrive within the first two weeks of the following month. Most are delivered within 3-8 business days once they leave us, however some rural addresses may take up to 12 days. Delays may occur on occasion due to weekends, holidays or other factors affecting shipping such as extreme weather, power outages, equipment breakdown and the like. Shipping notification and tracking details will be sent via email. Your shipping email may arrive up to 5 days before the package leaves us, so be sure to check the actual shipping date listed. Packages typically take between 3-8 business days to arrive once they leave us. For some rural or difficult to reach areas, shipping can take up to 12 business days.You can expect to receive your shipment within 2-8 business days after it leaves us. Your tracking email may arrive up to 5 days before the package actually ships, so please be sure to look at the actual shipment date indicated. Please note that boxes being shipped to rural areas or destinations further from our Portland, Oregon location may take 7-9 business days to arrive, and in some instances, up to 12.From the date it leaves us (indicated in your tracking email), you can expect:

Goodebox currently ships to the United States, U.S. Territories and APO boxes at this time via the US Postal Service First Class Mail, no signature required.
- What if I need to change the address to which my Goodebox ships?
Login to your account to change the address of your Goodebox. Address changes must be made by the 15th of the shipping month to take effect for that shipment.
If an address is not changed by the 15th of the month and the Goodebox goes to your old address due to this, we will need to collect $3.50 to cover the cost of postage to reship the returned box or a replacement for it.
If you have any questions or concerns about an address change, Submit A Request before the 15th of the month and we’ll get you taken care of.
- Can I pick the samples in my Goodebox?
Half the fun of Goodebox is in the surprise. What fun is it opening a gift when you already know what it is? Many of the items in the Goodebox are good for everyone, but sometimes, certain products are geared toward specific concerns, certain skin types and the like. We review all preferences in Member Profiles in choosing the products each month, and where applicable, customize according to your selections. If it turns out something in your Goodebox doesn’t work for you, it will likely work for someone you know, and sharing is so much more fun than disappointment.
- Can I make changes to my Goodebox Member Product Preference Profile after I join?
Absolutely. Click here to login and make changes to your Member Profile. All changes must be made before the 1st of the shipping month to take effect that month. The most recent Member Profile on file will be used each month.
- Will I know ahead of time what is coming in my Goodebox?
Do you want to know what your gifts are before you open then? It’s part of the fun to open a little surprise each month.
- What are your standards for the products included in each Goodebox?
Goodebox only works with thoroughly evaluated, mission based brands committed to cleaner, healthier, more sustainable products. Each product is evaluated according to criteria established by experts we trust and our personal research, use & assessment of each item. In addition to these, each month, your Goodebox contains products tested, examined and loved by our Guest Experts, from professional make-up artists to sought after aestheticians; celebrity nutritionists to holistic health practitioners, book authors to green beauty writers, and well regarded sustainable living gurus – these people know their goods. All told, we research and review all available information on ingredients, animal welfare, social and environmental practices to make sure they’re on the up and up. Some brands score higher in certain areas than others, and some may not be wholly committed, but are on the path to being the best they can be, making improvements along the way. We support this and hope showing love for better products will help them make more positive changes. Fig & SageNot all databases and third party scoring sites tell the whole story, and opinions and even research can differ, so we evaluate each product on a case by case basis, product by product. These resources also may not always agree with one another, and occasionally, we may reach a different conclusion, so we take the information available and make a judgment call. We set the bar pretty high, but of course, the final judgment call on whether a product is good enough for you…is up to you. We’re always open to feedback and new resources to look at to make sure the products we introduce you to are living up to your standards, revising our own criteria along the way as new information surfaces. Through our product surveys, you have a direct line to each brand we include to share your feedback directly with them as well, which believe it or not, does influence how they do business. At the end of the day, we want to make it easier, and quite frankly, fun, to find good brands, doing good business, making good products, from good ingredients, so you can have a good time using them, look good and feel good about doing it. Anything we can do to make this whole process gooder, we’re all for it.
- Do you have Vegan only boxes, how do you define Vegan and are the products Cruelty Free?
Vegan Products:
Due to the difficulty in sourcing quality, high performance Vegan beauty products that are formulated with healthy, sustainable ingredients (and not just junk that happens to be Vegan), members choosing to receive Vegan products in their Member Profile may receive products that contain beeswax or other bee based ingredients. Products selected for Vegan members will not contain ingredients derived from milk, eggs, lanolin, cochineal beetles (Carmine), pearl, silk, animal by-products or any other non-vegan ingredients. Due to the difficulty in sourcing quality, high performance Vegan beauty products that are formulated with healthy, sustainable ingredients (and not just junk that happens to be Vegan), members choosing to receive Vegan products in their Member Profile may receive products that contain beeswax or other bee based ingredients. Products selected for Vegan members will not contain ingredients derived from milk, eggs, lanolin, cochineal beetles (Carmine), pearl, silk, animal by-products or any other non-vegan ingredients.
Cruelty Free Products:
Goodebox supports Cruelty Free beauty products and is opposed to animal testing for both finished products and ingredients. We screen each brand to try to ensure no brand we work with is currently engaged in animal testing or using ingredients currently being tested on animals. However, not all brands are certified Cruelty Free by Leaping Bunny. The Leaping Bunny standard is “no new animal testing in any phase of product development by the company, its laboratories, or suppliers.” While many brands not certified by Leaping Bunny may meet this standard in terms of the finished products they sell and the ingredients currently being used, the actions of the laboratories and supplies they may work with (not owned by them) have not been verified to be Cruelty Free.
- Do Goodebox subscribers get special offers?
But of course! Each month, along with your Goodebox, you will also get a very exclusive set of special offers applicable to many of the products included (though not all of them) which will be valid anywhere from 1 week to 60 days, depending on the brand’s policies.
- Can I give a Goodebox membership as a gift?
You betcha! We offer 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 month Goodebox memberships to be given as gifts. You simply complete the gift form and make a one-time payment. The recipient will receive an email on the day you’ve selected containing a link to fill out their shipping information and complete a member profile to make sure they receive the best products for their individual concerns.

Each Goodebox will contain 4 to 6 items, mostly beauty and personal care products, along with natural & organic wellness products, and occasional sustainable living goods.
- Why not just take the free samples at the store?
No reason at all not to. Please do. But the ones you will get from Goodebox are most likely….bigger, smarter, better and not from just whoever happens to be handing them out that day. Not to mention, we source from a much larger pool of products than your local beauty shop or natural foods store, so odds are you’ll get to try a far greater variety of brands and products through us. That said if you’re one to scour the net and order samples from brands individually, by all means keep up the good work! Though we’re pretty sure that when you add up your time, shipping expenses and any cost for the samples that our service is the better deal.
- Can I cancel if I need to?
Monthly and Bi-Monthly memberships can be canceled at any time. 3 and 6 Month Memberships are processed at the time of joining and cannot be canceled or refunded, however they can be transferred to a new recipient. To cancel a Monthly or Bi-Monthly Membership, login to your Account , go to Update Billing Details and complete the Cancel Request Form.
It’s hard to judge whether the service is a fit after a single month since products do vary month to month. We recommend trying the service for at least 3 months before canceling to determine if it’s a fit for you. This way, you will see the variety over a few months to give you a good sense for what the service is like.NOTE: To prevent another box from shipping, be sure to cancel BEFORE the 1st of the shipping month. Boxes are shipped between the 25th and 30th of the month before they are received. This is the shipping month. Cancellations submitted ON OR AFTER the 1st of the shipping month will take effect the following month. For example, if you cancel your membership on July 4th, your August dues will still be processed between July 1-7th and the August Goodebox, which ships and the end of July, will be your last. No further dues will be processed nor boxes shipped.
NEW MEMBERS PLEASE NOTE: Your second month’s dues may be processed before you receive your first Goodebox. If this is a concern, we recommend either joining as an Every Other Month member or, making sure you cancel before the 1st of the following month. This way, you will avoid being charged again before you receive your first Goodebox. Should you decide you’d like to receive a Goodebox each month, simply update your account to a Monthly Membership. If you have canceled, you can always re-activate your membership. Keep in mind, when rejoining or changing from an Every Other Month to a Monthly plan, there is a chance one month will be missed, depending on the date of re-activation or plan change. The closer to the first of the month, the better odds of not missing a shipment. A change later in the month may result in a month missed. - Can I get a refund for my Goodebox if I don’t like what’s in it?
We hope you love getting your Goodebox each month, but if you don’t, you can cancel a Monthly or Bi-Monthly Membership at any time. Login to your account to cancel. To prevent another box from shipping, be sure to cancel BEFORE the 1st of the shipping month. Boxes ship each month between the 25-30th. Because Goodebox is a membership service, refunds for shipped Goodeboxes are not available. You can choose to stop receiving your Goodebox (sniff) if you prefer, or you can change the address & recipient. Address changes must be made by the 15th of the shipping month to take effect for that shipment. Login to your account to change the address and/or recipient of your Goodebox. 3 and 6 Month Memberships cannot be canceled or refunded, however they can be transferred to a new recipient.
- I saw a Special Offer after I had joined or placed an order. Can I get an adjustment?
Special offers and sales on Goodeboxes happen from time to time, but very rarely (maybe twice a year). If you purchase, for example a Monthly Box or a Limited Edition Deluxe Box and later see a special offer pertaining to that same box, as a small business, we are not able to offer price adjustments. When they happen, and they are rare, they are VERY limited in duration. Most of the time, these boxes sell out before we have a chance to make a special offer. We hope you appreciate the value each box, even at full price brings. OF course, you can opt to wait it out to see if a special offer comes along, but changes are, it won’t. We’ve all been there, bought that awesome bag/shirt/dress/nail color only to see it go on sale later. We’ve also been here, waiting to see if it goes on sale and missing out completely.
- I’m getting an error code when trying to join or when trying to login from the Home Page Login:
1. When trying to Join: (412) code: CustomerCodeNotUnique: Another customer already exists with code=”your email address”?
The system is designed to prevent multiple sign-ups under the same email address. This is to protect you from inadvertently having multiple memberships. When signup is started and your email address is collected, it generates an account for you. If you receive this error, it means your account has been created and just needs to be completed. Submit A Request here to contact us and we will send you the appropriate link to finalize your membership. If you receive a “Welcome to Goodebox” email, you can also click the link supplied – Update Your Payment Method – to verify that your account is active, and if inactive, provide payment information to activate it.
2. When I try to Login: I get a message that says “Isn’t this embarrassing – Page Not Found”?
This happens occasionally with certain browsers and some sort of cache / cookie issue. Your best bet is to either clear your cache and any cookies in the browser and try again. If you’re still having issues, Submit A Request here for help from Goodebox customer service. - How do I contact you?
